  • Michael P. Fortuna, AIA

    Partner, Principal

    Mike Fortuna, a Principal of the Firm since 2002, has been involved in a wide range of projects completed by the firm since joining TLBA in 1991. Mike has been a licensed, practicing Architect for over 30 years. At TLBA, he has served as Project Manager and Principal-in-Charge in the successful completion of numerous projects inclusive of a variety of scales and complexities. He not only has coordinated complicated building programs, site conditions and equipment into cohesive architectural plans, but he understands the process of maintaining schedules and budgets. His experience includes municipal, university and recreation projects, as well as healthcare, research, and primary education facilities throughout the State of Connecticut.

  • Timothy L. Brewer, AIA, LEED AP

    Partner, Principal

    Timothy Brewer is the founding principal of TLB Architecture. Since opening the practice in Connecticut in 1989, Mr. Brewer has been responsible for overseeing a wide range of projects to ensure their successful programming, design and completion in the best interest of our clients. With over 35 years’ experience in the development of creative and responsive architectural solutions that balance scope, schedule and budget, Mr. Brewer has focused the firm toward specific areas of architectural specialty. These specialties include college & university, laboratory, athletic & recreation and cultural facilities. His concentration in these sectors has provided the firm with an in-depth knowledge of the processes and procedures required to successfully service clients engaged in the implementation and maintenance of complex facilities.

  • Jeffrey R. Burr, AIA

    Principal

    Jeff’s attention to detail and understanding of documentation procedures have become an important asset to TLBA and our Clients. With over 15 years of experience with the firm Jeff has demonstrated a continued ability to develop and grow by taking on numerous project leadership roles to great success. Jeff has contributed significantly to the Firm’s success in Academic Science, Visual and Performing Arts, Athletics and Recreation, Civic, and Preservation project design and delivery to the highest standards. In January of 2024 Jeff was made a Principal of the Firm.

  • Paula D. Tunney, AIA

    Associate

    Paula has over 25 years of professional experience. She joined TLBA in 2000 and in recognition of her significant contributions to the firm, Paula was named an Associate in 2010. Although she has contributed to a variety of different project types over the years, her main focus at TLBA has been interior science/laboratory renovations. Paula’s ability to work with project Stakeholders and Consultants on projects with highly technical program requirements while capitalizing on opportunities for design has yielded consistently positive results. In her role as Project Architect, her ability to work with others and attention to detail are clear strengths.

  • Christopher S. Strange, RA, LEED AP, CPHD

    Associate

    Chris has been a registered Architect with the state of CT since 2004 and has been with TLBA since 2007. He was made an Associate of the firm in 2019.  His specialty within TLBA is in Science and Research facilities in the Pharmaceutical, Corporate Science and Higher Education sectors. Over his years here he has also assisted on numerous Recreational and University projects. Chris is a LEED Accredited Professional and a Certified Passive House Designer, committed to sustainable design principles and efficient use of our natural resources. He lends his knowledge of one of the most stringent energy standards in the world to both his projects and consults, as well as others within the firm.

  • Joseph Bergin, AIA, LEED AP

    Associate

    As an associate of TLBA, Joe leads design teams to achieve successful results in renovation, alteration and expansion projects of higher education and research facility types, including cultural collections storage and infrastructure projects with sensitive programs and complexities of phasing and sequencing. With decades of experience guiding valuable relationships among colleagues, clients, and industry professionals Joe has cultivated a wisdom and expertise for integrating highly technical design into careful documentation that drives strong project delivery through clear communications towards successful outcomes for all project stakeholders.

  • Jared J. Magoon, AIA

    Associate

    Jared has been a valued member of the TLBA team since 2016, with over twenty years in the profession. His experience has a broad range from science and research to public safety projects. At TLBA he has mostly focused on science projects, mainly with Yale University. He has also been part of numerous civic projects for the State of Connecticut and DEEP. His overall experience has taken him through projects ranging from waterproofing and building envelope restorations to full-scale public safety complexes. Jared takes on many roles within the firm, from project architect through support staff to help facilitate project delivery. He strives to keep Projects on schedule and within budget, while still providing quality design and deliverables.
