In close collaboration with Essex Savings Bank, Essex Financial Services and Town of Madison Boards and Commissions, TLBA has crafted a plan to completely transform an existing, under-utilized structure into a new retail banking and financial services facility. Zoning regulations required the renewed facility to conform to Village District requirements, providing the opportunity to re-invent the building’s exterior in a traditional New England vernacular. Cedar siding and roofing, traditional windows, gambrel forms, entry portico and loggia combine with landscape elements to create architecture of distinction. The building interiors feature raised paneling, amber-finished “bright work” mahogany and extensive architectural millwork, creating a sophisticated banking and financial services environment.
