Coppo Field, Waveny Park

Waveny Park, New Canaan, Connecticut

The Coppo Field project consists of upgrades to two existing fields at Waveny Park in New Canaan, CT. These fields are situated next to the Lapham Community Center on the New Canaan High School campus. Planned upgrades include transforming one grass baseball field into a synthetic turf Varsity field and reconfiguring a second grass field for softball.

To enhance accessibility, new parking spaces and walkways will be added throughout the facility. A range of new buildings and structures is proposed to support the Varsity field, which will feature 300-seat accessible grandstands, restrooms, a press box, dugouts for both home and visitors, a Varsity team room, and indoor storage. Additionally, the Varsity baseball field will be equipped with new sports lighting, a scoreboard, bullpens, and batting cages, while the softball field will boast an irrigated natural grass surface, modular dugout structures, and portable bleachers. Phase I construction began in the Summer of 2024, and completed in Spring 2025.
