TLBA provided complete Architectural/Engineering services to the University of Connecticut to implement a new 8,000 sf facility on the Torrington campus. The new building occupies a prominent site on the campus, accommodating faculty offices for the Cooperative Extension System as well as a new Lecture/Conference Center.
The solution blends an existing 1950’s campus architectural vocabulary with current construction technologies, and vernacular architectural forms present in Litchfield County. The project, funded jointly by UConn 2000 and local civic groups from the Litchfield area, required a great deal of communication and consensus building within the Ownership Team to gain design approval, secure funding, and move the project forward.
