TLBA was commissioned by the Town of Winchester to lead the planning and restoration of the Soldier’s Monument. This 1890 stone structure was dedicated to memorialize Civil War Veterans and has, over the years, gone through eras of celebration, neglect and revitalization. Through the restoration efforts of the Town and an appointed Building Committee, the monument again stands as an iconic monument overlooking the Town. Included in this phase were upgrades to electrical service, roof repairs and window replacement. The Soldiers’ Monument is listed in the National Register of Historic Places and all restoration design work followed the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation.
